xalan hangs indefinitly consuming 100% CPU

Summary: xalan hangs indefinitly consuming 100% CPU
           Product: XalanJ2
           Version: 2.4Dx
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Blocker
          Priority: Other
         Component: org.apache.xalan
        AssignedTo: xalan-dev@xml.apache.org
        ReportedBy: lipp@danet.de

I have an XML and XSL combination that have worked fine with xalan 1.2. Now I
have upgraded to cocoon2 and thus automatically to xalan 2.3.1. I find that the
transformation hangs now, consuming 100% CPU. So I have tried the transformation
with the latest xalan version. Now it hangs even earlier.

I have the XML and XSL files available but it is no use pasting them here. I'll
send them to anybody who looks after this bug.
