Kafka Quota help

Team,

We are trying to automate quota allocations.

Are there any client API’s accessible for users to apply Kafka quotas other than the kafka-configs.sh script?

Thank you in advance.

Ravi

Hey Ravi,

There's a KIP to add quota management to the admin API: KIP-546
<https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/KAFKA/KIP-546%3A+Add+quota-specific+APIs+to+the+Admin+Client%2C+redux>

My best guess (based on searching through Slack, Google, etc...) is that
this will be part of Apache Kafka 2.6. That's *not* an authoritative
answer.

In the meantime, you might be able to build some automation around the
inner workings of the kafka-configs.sh script. Under the hood, it's passing
arguments to the kafka.admin.ConfigCommand
<https://github.com/apache/kafka/blob/trunk/core/src/main/scala/kafka/admin/ConfigCommand.scala>
class.

HTH,

Alex
