[jira] [Created] (HBASE-12872) [TEST] Means of putting regionserver
recovery on hold
stack created HBASE-12872:
-----------------------------
Summary: [TEST] Means of putting regionserver recovery on hold
Key: HBASE-12872
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-12872
Project: HBase
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: test
Reporter: stack
Assignee: stack
Priority: Minor
Here is a small bit of utility that I found useful recently testing. It is a means of disabling master's running of server shutdown -- i.e. stopping the master recovering regionservers. It is good for keeping cluster in an off-kilter state as in, a regionserver is down and it is down as long as you want to keep it offline. It is helpful for testing grey areas: client retrying, what happens when regions are offline a while.
