Crypted passwords using svnserve

Hi!

I read in some forums that maybe this is a hardly-discussed issue (but also
a hardly-requested feature)... I ask just in case :-P

Is there any way to encrypt the passwords in the passwords-file used by
svnserve?? I really want to use svnserve instead of the apache module...
