camel-nsq component

Hello,

I submitted the original NSQ component and we use it extensively at my organization. I just noticed that the component was replaced in 3.17.0. I would like to understand the criteria for its removal and what I can do to “reinstate” it.

Best Regards,
Marcus Ionker

Re: camel-nsq component

Hello,

The main reason for the removal was related to the NSQ Client, the last
release was from 2017 and it was vulnerable to multiple CVE, in particular
log4jshell too.

Since this client was on RC4 and there was no plan to release a stable
version with stable dependencies and updates, we choose to remove the
component.

Unless there is a different client (maybe with different implementation) or
a fork of https://github.com/brainlag/JavaNSQClient with dependencies
updated and stable version, we cannot release a component flawed in this
way. So the original one cannot be added back in its original form.

Cheers,
Andrea
