[jira] [Commented] (TS-3944) port is not used in TSHttpTxnServerAddrSet

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-3944?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15061497#comment-15061497 ]

Alan M. Carroll commented on TS-3944:
-------------------------------------

Having dug through the code, I think this is a documentation issue. After DNS is done, the port is to the port specified in the user agent request unless it has been specifically set via the API. This seems reasonable to me - there's no good reason to set the target address later than that and it would be non-trivial to deal handling that case due to some other structural changes. My recommendation is to update the documenation to require use of this API call in the DNS hook at the latest. That is still post-remap which is, IMHO, sufficient.
