[ALC] Request to establish ALC in Florianópolis
Hello people,
Other members and I (contributors from Cassandra, CloudStack, Tapestry,
and others) have been discussing and we would like to start the process
of establishing ALCs in Brazil. We feel we can gather (old and new)
contributors together with this process, and build a nice community in
Brazil.
Most of the currently interested reside in Florianópolis, SC; thus, the
initial efforts would be to establish an ALC in Florianópolis, SC.
Please let us know your opinion on this.

Hello Daniel and everyone,
Thank you for expressing your interest in establishing an ALC in Florianópolis.
As a next step, I'll sync with the interested team, share some resources,
and discuss the proposed chapter lead and ALC roles and responsibilities.
Then, we'll proceed with executing the next steps and share the
proposal with the ComDev PMC.

Hi,
I would like to support the establishment of ALC Florianópolis.
Floripa has a vibrant tech scene that I think could greatly benefit from
having a local chapter to foster the Apache software development community.
I have met Daniel and I think he is very enthusiastic and I believe he is
prepared to lead this community.
I would be happy to get involved and help this community.

I've been actively contributing to Apache CloudStack for over a year now,
and I’m also based in Florianópolis (Santa Catarina, Brazil).
Florianópolis is home to a strong ecosystem of startups and tech companies,
so much that it's locally known as Brazil’s "Silicon Island". It also hosts
prestigious universities, such as the Universidade Federal de Santa
Catarina (UFSC), which is considered one of the best in Brazil and Latin
America.
I believe that establishing an ACL here would be a great opportunity to
promote The Apache Way locally. I would be more than happy to help organize
the event.

I am +1 on this proposal. We have a good number of tech companies here, and
also many contributors/committers and PMCs members from different projects
from Apache that live here.
In addition, it is a magnificent place for those who might visit us during
the meetups that we may organize.
