HiveMind 2.0-alpha-1 available
The HiveMind team is pleased to announce that HiveMind 2.0-alpha-1 is
available.
HiveMind 2 is a complete refactoring of HiveMind with the goal to support
alternative ways of defining a registry.
Besides xml module descriptors now a Java Registry Definition API
and an Annotation Based Definition API are supported.
Documentation:
http://cwiki.apache.org/HIVEMIND2
Download:
http://hivemind.apache.org/download.html
The release is also available from the central Maven repository under
Group ID "org.apache.hivemind".
http://cwiki.apache.org/HIVEMIND2/usewithmaven.html
We're looking forward to your feedback.

Please fix wiki link in news ( http://hivemind.apache.org/news.html ).
It is currently with error ( http://cwiki.apache.org/HIVMINED2 ) instead
of http://cwiki.apache.org/HIVEMIND2.

I can answer this with a clear: it depends.
I've started some documentation concerning this topic,
but it's rather incomplete in the moment:

I was able to migrate Tapestry 4 to HiveMind 2 within 15 minutes,
to give you an impression how backward compatible it is.

I'm currently working exactly on that feature which I call
'Domain specific definition'. I hope to get it in for alpha-2.

That's great! Thanks for the hard work!
Some questions:
Is it fully backwards compatible with Hivemind 1?
(If yes then I hope that Tapestry 4 will switch to Hivemind 2 as soon as
it is stable ;) )
Another question: how easy is to customize the registry creation process?
For example can I create a @Contributed annotation to declaratively add
a service to a configuration point? (I know it's not common requirement
but in my application such a specific automatism would be great :) ).
