[SDO Java] improving the samples

In starting to make the samples a bit better, I tackled
ObtainingDatagraphFromXML and added some infrastructure to allow making the
other samples clearer [1].
I'd welcome any comments on this,  and any offers of help to do similar
things to the other samples.
