How to enter Ctrl+W into vi without having your window closed?
Hi, Need to ask this since I didn't find an answer anywhere.
I use split views in vim editor, which allows me to see multiple files or
multiple parts of the same file.
Anyway, definitions aside, the way to move between the views is a double
Ctrl+W, which was fine as long as I was using putty etc without guacamole
However, it doesn't work in Guacamole context as the browser captures it and
closes the window
I tried using a chrome extension called "AutoControl" and by this I am able
to prevent closing the chrome window by having the extension swallow the
keystrokes (lot of accident averted). However, how can I actually have vi
switch the view?
Any advice greatly appreciated

By default, <Leader> is backslash "\". You can use:
:nnoremap <Leader>w <C-w>
This let's you use <Leader>w wherever you would use C-w, which in the
default case would be \w (backslash-w)
I found this at:

I have managed to solve the problem. Sharing here in case someone else finds
it useful
We cannot get Ctrl-W to vim, as it will be stopped by browser.
Send something else not caught by browser. For this purpose, I used Ctrl-j.
On vim, I used commands like
:map <C-j> <C-w>w
:map <C-k> <C-w>gf
each mapping provides me an alternative way of getting the same thing done.
Now my ~/.vimrc is having these mappings and I don't have to worry about
setting these mappings anymore
In addition I made a new chrome profile just for going to Guacamole, and in
that profile I use AutoControl to capture and ignore Ctrl-W, so that even if
I type it by mistake there is no problem
