regarding [Bug 4625] - won't build from outside of source tree

I have a patch that David Bertoni advised me to submit, via Bugzilla.

It incorporates fixes for 4627, 4628 (which has already been addressed), and 
4631.


It does seem like Xalan doesn't benefit from 'runConfigure' as much as 
Xerces.
