Is there a bug with :alpha:?

Hi,

Using the DemoApplet, I can't find a way to match only alphabetic character,
i.e. the equivalent of [A-Za-z]. The following matchs a letter:

[:alnum:]

but this doesn't:

[:alpha:]

Am I just using it wrong or is this a known bug?

You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes,
