importNode(Node, boolean) not exist in Xerces 1.2.0?

Hello!

I am using xerces 1.2.0 and JDK 1.2.2, but as I javac
a Java prgrame involving method of importNode(Node,
boolean) in Document doc, the response is:

Method importNode(org.w3c.dom.Node, boolean) not found
in interface org.w3c.dom.Document.
           Node nd = newDoc.importNode(node, true);

Could anyone tell if importNode(node, boolean) exists
in xerces 1.2.0?  Thanks.
