Sorry for the delay - I was just told the error occurs on Windows 7 64-bit, which apparently worked fine using an earlier qpid dev build.  The error is the one I posted, something about an unknown url for the amqp-0-10.dtd.  I don't know enough Python to go much further myself.  The Python team here won't be able to look at this in the very near future, so I wanted to pass this on.  As to the question you raised - I'm now not sure if this in fact an egg issue, which is what I was originally told.
