   Splitting this umbrella PR into four Jira-scoped follow-ups so each change stays reviewable on its own:
   - THRIFT-5930: server-side Unix socket path bounds
   - THRIFT-5933: client-side Unix socket path bounds
   - THRIFT-5931: SSL error formatting
   - THRIFT-5932: Windows saferealpath() bounds
   
   The replacement PRs are already open and linked from the corresponding Jira issues.
