Startup.exe Error: SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception

Summary: Startup.exe Error: SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet
                    jsp threw exception
           Product: Tomcat 5
           Version: 5.0.4
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Blocker
          Priority: Other
         Component: Jasper2
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jerrympls@hotmail.com
                CC: jerrympls@hotmail.com

I just downloaded Tomcat 5.0.4 and tried to run the startup.exe file. The
standard c:\ sreen gave the following error:

SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException
        at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper
.java:367)
        at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:2
93)

The system then goes on for a bit and then "hangs". A similar problem was
occurring in the Tomcat "production" version, so I tried the 5.0.4 version to
see if it would be fixed.

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional.

Thanks,

Jerry Hammannn
