load balancing performance

hi list

i'm wondering if somebody has experience with the tomcat load balancing in real life? i have set it up and it works nicely, but i want to use it for a project that will generate quite some load for a couple of days, and am not sure if it then will continue to work as it should :) anyone got some experience with this? especially regarding performance and reliability.
