[jira] [Created] (SPARK-7517) Rename unsafe module to managedmemory

Josh Rosen created SPARK-7517:
---------------------------------

Summary: Rename unsafe module to managedmemory
                 Key: SPARK-7517
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-7517
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Spark Core
    Affects Versions: 1.4.0
            Reporter: Josh Rosen
            Assignee: Josh Rosen
            Priority: Blocker

I think that we should rename the {{unsafe}} module to {{managedmemory}} and update the relevant SparkConf configurations before exposing them in Spark 1.4.

I think that the new names would be less scary to users and more informative to readers. For example, ManagedMemoryRow seems like a better clearer than UnsafeRow. Similarly, ManagedMemoryShuffleManager seems more descriptive than UnsafeShuffleManager.
