> as noticed by a user recently, the [mini-guide|https://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-creating-archetypes.html] explains about Archetype 1.x, with its archetype.xml descriptor, which is deprecated: Archetype 2.x has its descriptor with a different schema under archetype-metadata.xml (there may be other differences, I did not investigate in details)
