Shade point release?

An energetic user (Trask) has submitted a patch to fix shade with
aspectJ, and wishes there could be a release sooner rather than later.

Does anyone have some time to knock off any other bugs?

Would anyone object if, failing that, I renamed 1.6 to 1.5.1 and ran a release?
