[jira] [Commented] (LUCENE-6283) More Like This: skip terms, like Fields and lenient defaults

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-6283?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14333361#comment-14333361 ]

Robert Muir commented on LUCENE-6283:
-------------------------------------

What is the rationale of the defaults changes? To me its not that it makes things more lenient, it is more complicated and has performance and relevance repercussions.

Setting these values to 1 also means we completely remove any 'noise filtering' and rely solely on simple tf-idf ranking.
