[jira] Commented: (MPGENAPP-4) Make genapp pull templates from repository instead of being embedded in a plugin

Miguel Griffa commented on MPGENAPP-4:
--------------------------------------

I agree that m2 is the way, the context in which it was requested was an enterprise context, not an open source context, in an enterprise context, the users tend to be extremly lazy and error prone when doing something they don't like (like using a template for bootsraping an app).

> Perhaps we can provide a facility that would pull the template from the repository whether remote or local.
> We can also add the following targets:
> genapp:install = installs the template
> genapp:create-template = creates a template project based on an existing project
> genapp:test-template = tests the template by creating an instance of the template in the target directory, and runs the tests in generated instance.
