PutDatabaseRecord doesn't perform any SELECT statements per se, but the driver might be translating calls to get the table metadata into a SELECT under the hood. If the problem is that it is trying to select from a different database / catalog / schema, make sure you populate the Catalog Name and/or Schema Name properties so it will only try to access the correct db/cat/schema.
