Main Serlet class in a .jar file

I have tried putting my servlet in a jar file and copting it into
WEB-INF\lib, but it doesn't pick it up. It works fine if it is unpacked into
WEB-INF\classes. I have Tomcat Beta 1. Is there any setup configuration I
need in Web.xml.
Any help would be appreciated.
