[DISCUSSION] Heading towards Apache Karaf 2.2.5 Release Candidate

Hi All,

It's been several weeks since our last Apache Karaf 2.2.x patch
update. During this time we have collected 21 resolved issues. I'd
like to schedule in a Karaf 2.2.5 RC build for early December time
frame.

Current high lights of this patch include multiple JAAS support
improvements, better support for Linux systems with certain versions
of libc, and more consistent behavior between bundle and feature
installers. This kit will also include new features such as SCP
support, and a demo for extending Karaf's console commands.

I do not believe producing this patch will impact development efforts
on any of the other branches or sub projects.

Cheers,
Jamie

Note: Since we have put in several jaas improvements, I would like also
like to see a backing engine for ldap, so that jaas commands can be used
with the ldap login module. So if anyone has a few cycles for it, that
would be great!

Hi Jamie,

+1,

I just want to fix a set of Jira to include in this release (I will
check the target fix version to be sure that it will be included).

JB

+1 (nonbinding) Lets push out these fixes to our users post-haste. :-) I
can test the build on Windows 7, Vista, CentOS, and Ubuntu if you would like
help.
