This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-9401).
**Findings: confirmed not done, and the precondition it was waiting on has been met.**
The description asks for scalatest 3.2.18+ "after merging Spark 4 support and removing deprecated FunSuite". Spark 4 support **did** merge - PR #12772 (`[HUDI-7915] Spark 4 support`, merged 2025-09-22) - so the blocker is gone.
The versions have not moved, though. In the root `pom.xml`:
```xml
:202 <scalatest.spark3.version>3.1.0</scalatest.spark3.version>
:204 <scalatest.spark4.version>3.1.4</scalatest.spark4.version>
:205 <scalatest.version>${scalatest.spark3.version}</scalatest.version>
```
So the default is 3.1.0 and even the Spark 4 line is 3.1.4 - neither reaches 3.2.18.
Since the properties are already split per Spark line, the Spark 4 bump can be done independently of Spark 3, which makes this smaller than it looks. The `FunSuite` removal is the part to check first, since that is what 3.2.x requires.
Keeping this open.
