VM for running Tutorial Samples

Hi All,

Since the current quick start tutorial is relying on sample services hosting outside ASF infrastructure. How about we request a VM where all committers have access to for updates? We can potentially use it for hosting a release version (assuming with proper security) for trying out simple tutorials. 

Thoughts? If this is agreeable? Any opinions on FreeBSD Jails Vs Ubuntu VM's? Also the default configuration seems to be 40GB disk space and 2GB RAM. I think we may have to request more RAM, any estimates?

Ubuntu would be my VOTE I like the Linux commands a bit more than
the FreeBSD ones.
