[jira] [Created] (XMLSCHEMA-15) ValidationEventHandler has gone missing

ValidationEventHandler has gone missing
---------------------------------------

                 Key: XMLSCHEMA-15
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XMLSCHEMA-15
             Project: XmlSchema
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: XmlSchema 2.0
            Reporter: Gregory Bonk

I'm using Spring 3.0.5 and Spring WS 2.0.2 and when I switch to use XMLSchema 2.0.0 from 1.4.7 spring can't find the ...

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/ws/commons/schema/ValidationEventHandler

I'm wondering if this is a change that Spring needs to make or Apache. I have not been able to find any documentation on if Spring is incompatible with 2.0 or is XML Schema 2.0 is incomaptible with Spring

[jira] [Commented] (XMLSCHEMA-15) ValidationEventHandler has gone missing

Benson Margulies commented on XMLSCHEMA-15:
-------------------------------------------

There is no tutorial for 2.0. XMLSchema is minimally maintained to serve a few other Apache projects that use it. We did 2.0 to solve some big issues in the 1.4.x stream that were too hard to fix compatibly. Unless some other volunteers turn up with an interest, this situation will obtain indefinitely.

Benson Margulies resolved XMLSCHEMA-15.
---------------------------------------

    Resolution: Not A Problem
      Assignee: Benson Margulies

2.0 is documented to be incompatible. It's up to Spring to make an update to use it if they want to.
