Re: [Planning] Documentation for 1.0

I can write this part : "Deploying Artifacts to Archiva using Maven 1."

The content is : "it's impossible using the webdav of archiva, you have to
use ftp, scp or another protocol available in the maven 1's artifact
plugin."

I don't know enough ant tasks to reply, but if required I'll be able to help
the team to investigate if we consider that it is important ;-)

I thought we'd resolved that problem for the ant tasks?

And I believe it then loads wagons in such a way that it should
conflict - though I guess I'd need to test that :)

Anyway, was just throwing out ideas :)

In maven 1 we'll have the problem of classloader.
If we have a conflict with a library already loaded by the core (http-client
for example) we'll not be able to use m2 ant tasks.

hehe :)

A couple of thoughts:
- the below, + a recommendation to increase the scanning frequency is
a good piece of general documentation "deploying without webdav".
- how will ant users be deploying to webdav? can m1 users leverage
the same thing? (eg, the maven ant tasks + webdav with an m2 layout
on the server)

I'll go through the rest of the outline today.

Re: [Planning] Documentation for 1.0

It's not in the archiva side, but in the maven 1 side.
The artifact plugin doesn't support this protocol :
http://maven.apache.org/maven-1.x/plugins/artifact/protocols.html

In fact I succeeded to make it work but there's some side effects because we
have to downgrade the version of http-client bundled in the core.
I abandoned to implement it.
