Newbie JSPWiki question re database...
Hi for a vanilla install of JSPWiki on Tomcat, am I *always* using a
database (hsql or postgresql) or is everything saved as files in the
filesystem? I don't know if I need to activate JDBC explicitly or
that's done by default.
Thanks,
Glen

Hi!
jdbc is not used by default, OOTB, it can be used to store users and groups
through the corresponding JDBC*Providers. (you have to change
jspwiki.properties, though, by defautl they're saved on XML files through
XML*Providers). It could also be used to store wiki pages through a
specific WikiPageProvider, but right now that should be provided through a
3rd party extension.

The standard is filesystem, it's what I use on mine. For Wikis < 2000
pages it's not a big deal.

I always use the vanilla configuration (FileSystemProvider).
I never used a database, at least you have to configure some properties in
jspwiki.properties I guess.
