Plan for 3.14 beta 1
Hi everyone,
As per the discussion at ApacheCon, it was suggested that I could
produce the 3.14 beta1 release (probably the closest to π we're likely
to manage unless we can crowbar a 5 onto the end of the number somehow),
to confirm the documentation on the process is complete and accurate.
So, questions...
Where is the documentation on how to produce/sign a release package?
What would we like to have done for 3.14 beta1? Currently sitting on
trunk we have about 8 fixes, which would make for a smaller than average
beta (though several of them are my fixes which I have an interest in
seeing reach a release!). What's the status of the Visio work?

Unless I receive objections, I think I will push the visio stuff in to
trunk later today, and hopefully get to some better tests in the near
future.

The visio stuff is ready to be pushed in whenever
(https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=58087). It had been
mentioned that it would be nice to add better test coverage, but I
haven't had time to do that yet, so I haven't pushed it in. However, I
can push it in without that if desired so we can get it in user's hands.
As far as adding the security jar to the schemas full jar
(https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=58408), I'd rather
someone else do something like that. It seems to be a rather large change.

I have some XML Options changes pending that should be in the beta and
I think it would be good to include a first version of the Visio stuff
from Dustin, so the release has some new stuff included as well.

There are links near the top of that to the underlying Apache policies and
release information, which you'll probably also want to read through too

I think we need someone to help get the ooxml-security stuff into the main
ooxml-schemas jar, including unblocking the query around different
xmlbeans options.
With that done, I think there's some stuff around testing and
documentation needed for, and possibly some links into the extractor
factories etc?
