running sample clients: error creating Call

Trying to run any of the SOAP clients, the following line in the *.java file

      Call call = new Call ();

gives me an exception that I can't figure out.

For example, when trying to run the GetQuote sample:

  Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
javax/mail/Messaging
  Exception at samples.stockquote.GetQuote.main(GetQuote.java:92)

(where line 92 is the Call creation shown above). I know that the Call class
is at org.apache.soap.rpc.Call, and it is in soap.jar, and soap.jar is on my
CLASPATH. Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong?
