Problems with xalan-j and ApplyXPath Sample

Hello,

I have just downloaded xalan-j 2.0.0 and installed it on my system. I have
set the classpath as per the documentation to include xerces.jar, xalan.jar,
xalansamples.jar and bsf.jar. When I attempt to execute the ApplyXPath
sample provided I encounter the following error:

D:\Apache\xalan-j_2_0_0\samples\ApplyXPath>java ApplyXPath foo.xml /
Loading classes, parsing foo.xml, and setting up serializer
Querying DOM using /
<output>
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError

Any thoughts on what may be configured incorrectly. I am using SUN JDK 1.3
and have checked to lib/ext dir to ensure that there were no conflicts,
removed old version of JAXP.
