[Issue 125739] New: Small visible grid makes page change and other
actions in Draw really slow
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125739
Issue ID: 125739
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Small visible grid makes page change and other actions
in Draw really slow
Product: Draw
Version: 4.1.1
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: ui
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: bugs@bitmuster.org
Hi folks,
I was just wondering why Draw is so slow lately and consumes lots of computing
performance after updating to 4.1.1.
It seems like a fine visible grid is slowing Draw extremely down.
To reproduce
-Create a new Draw document
-Set unit of measurement to Millimeter
-Set grid to 1x1mm with subdivison of one
-Set grid to visible
-Add a second page and some objects
-E.g. switch between both pages -> 100% load for about 3-5 seconds and ui is
blocked
Here are some examples of actions that take longer after updating:
- Page changes (4s)
- Zooming (2-3s)
- Set zoom to "Optimal" (10s)
- Hiding/Showing sidebars (2s)
(Scrolling is surprisingly not affected)
(Deactivating aliasing doesn't change this)
I've also compared the behaviour with 4.1.0 on another (even slower) machine
there it behaves considerably faster (faster than 0.5s).
Thanks
Best Regards
Michael
