[jira] Created: (TAPESTRY-2543) Simplify Tapestry to use UTF-8 (or another, configurable character set) across the entire application

Simplify Tapestry to use UTF-8 (or another, configurable character set) across the entire application
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: TAPESTRY-2543
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAPESTRY-2543
             Project: Tapestry
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: tapestry-core
    Affects Versions: 5.0.13
            Reporter: Howard M. Lewis Ship
            Assignee: Howard M. Lewis Ship

As discussed on the mailing list, the current approach (wherein every page may choose its own character set) leads to a number of edge-case and flow-of-control problems.

Having a single global option that is the charset for the entire application (defaulting to "UTF-8") would negate those problems, at the cost of some flexibility.
