[lucy-issues] [jira] [Created] (LUCY-163) Target Windows XP

Target Windows XP
-----------------

                 Key: LUCY-163
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCY-163
             Project: Lucy
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Charmonizer, Core
    Affects Versions: 0.1.0 (incubating)
            Reporter: Marvin Humphrey
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 0.1.1 (incubating)

Some versions of windows.h and winbase.h -- notably those accompanying
Cygwin -- require that you specify a minimum OS release in order to
enable the symbols that were associated with that OS release or later.
Windows XP seems like a reasonable minimum.

Marvin Humphrey commented on LUCY-163:
--------------------------------------

CreateHardLink, which is needed by FSFolder_Hard_Link() and is crucial to
how Lucy commits work, was first published with Windows XP.
CreateSymbolicLink, on the other hand, didn't show up until Vista -- but
we only need CreateSymbolicLink for the TestFSFolder test which is disabled
by default.
