Apache Blog Post for Usergrid 1.0

Hi Sally,
CC dev@usergrid
We just released Usergrid 1.0.
I would very much like to make an Apache announcement and you are the go-to
gal for this.
Dev@usergrid, Sally is a beacon of light with regards to press and
community building. It would be another string in our bow if we could work
with her to promote Apache Usergrid to the masses via official Apache
channels.
Sally, if you would be so kind to state what you need I will get to work on
this and would really like to pull in company representatives who are
committees, etc to state why they endorse and contribute towards Usergrid
development.
Have a great weekend folks
Lewis

Thanks so much, Lewis. Hello Incubating Usergrid PMC!

At this stage, as you are undergoing incubation, there are no formal ASF news disseminations (press releases, Foundation blog, @TheASF Twitter feed etc.) until you are ready to graduate as a TLP. Then we can announce your graduation, along with other major project milestones.

As such, your best course of action is to set up a blogging account for Usergrid, akin to https://blogs.apache.org/drill/ --you'll need to request login credentials from Infra.

There's also the announce@apache.org mailing list. Be sure to a) use plain text, b) use the word [ANNOUNCE] or [ANN] in the subject line, and c) include a link for more information/downloading/*. Also do include the word "(Incubating)" after the first mention of Apache Usergrid, to read "Apache Usergrid (Incubating)".

Also, we recommend that you establish a Twitter account for Apache Usergrid so you can also share the news there, as many members of the technical press/analyst community keep an ear to the ground there.

When you're about a month away from graduation, please let me know (via press@apache.org is great) so we can work on the formal announcement.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ping me if you need assistance.

Warm regards,
Sally
