Yes, it's another VOTE: RELEASE STRUTS 1.1 WITH DBCP NIGHTLY BUILD
Hey gang, just me with another attempt at representitive democracy...
It's been more that a week since David Graham issued a plea on Commons
Dev for someone to step forward and help close the last three DBCP bugs,
and the silence has been deafening, at least on the list. As it stands,
I have heard absolutely nothing to indicate that DBCP is going to make a
release any time in the near future. In light of the fairly universal
opinion that DBCP is going to be deprecated in 1.2, and the fact that it
looks like there will be a Pool release within a week or so (Pool being,
so far as I know, the only other thing holding an RC2 up), it's time
(IMHO) to cut our loses and admit to ourselves that if RC2 and 1.1 final
are to ship anytime in the near future, it will have to be with a
non-release version of DBCP. So:
Proposed: That RC2 be generated immediately upon successful release of
Commons Pool with the latest nightly build of DBCP (assuming no
outstanding Struts bugs), and that if RC2 is acceptable, Struts 1.1
final ship with the same nightly build.
[ ] +1 Agreed
[ ] 0 Neutral
[ ] -1 I have major issues (please include reason)

+1 (from a non-committer)
Who uses DBCP anyway?
If the bugs won't affect the actual API interface then there shouldn't
be a big deal anyway - if folks have an issue with it then they can fix
the bug and release a new DBCP that folks can drop in if they need the
fix.
Ship it!
