docs

Has anyone else noticed that it now takes MUCH longer to do a
'cvs diff' of the source tree? I suspect because of the addtion
of the docs. Perhaps we could reconsider having them as part of
the entire source tree _after_ 1.2 is out?

Maybe the is something I could do differently with CVS to avoid
diffing the entire module?
