"svn: REPORT request failed" on Sun and HPUX
I am experiencing two rather odd errors on some Unix machines.
I first was experiencing this on a Sun 5.9 (Solaris 9) machine with svn
1.1.4. The machine is rather slow (some 500Mhz) and the repository is
rather large (a couple gigs.) Sometimes the checkout would work, but
sometimes it would do this:
svn: REPORT request failed on '/xvt/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: The REPORT request returned invalid XML in the response: XML parse
error at line 3093827: Extra content at the end of the document
. (/xvt/!svn/vcc/default)
Or sometimes it would alternate with this:
svn: REPORT request failed on '/xvt/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/xvt/!svn/vcc/default': 200 OK (http://svn.xvt.com)
I tried doing it on an HPUX box instead, but I experienced these errors
as well. In all cases, the checkout got through a good portion of the
repository before it died. One characteristic of the first error is that
it always happens in the same place, if it happens. (Changing the files
in the repository doesn't seem to help, I tried deleting a bunch of
unnecessary files and it still happened.) After a couple days of pulling
out hair, I tried updating the Sun box to the latest available svn from
sunfreeware.com, which was 1.3.1. I got the second error the first time
I tried.
I've googled for both of these errors. The first error is not found on
Google, and the second is all over Google but no solution is found other
then running "svn up" again, which is not an option because this is part
of an automated build process.
Is this a known problem? Are there any workarounds? Can anybody suggest
anything that can get my builds working?

Bump! I'm just letting the list know I haven't gotten any replies to
this off-list, and it is still an ongoing problem. Can anybody suggest
anything?
