[jira] [Commented] (LUCENE-9013) Migrate existing site content (except javadoc, refguide)

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-9013?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16960634#comment-16960634 ]

Adam Walz commented on LUCENE-9013:
-----------------------------------

[~janhoy] As a starting point for this migration I thought it would be a good idea to port over commits from svn to git so that history going back to 2010 could be preserved.

I've performed this port in [https://github.com/adamwalz/lucene-site/tree/master] and also built the lucene site for github pages in [https://github.com/adamwalz/lucene-site/tree/gh-pages]. I'd like to make a pull request onto [https://github.com/apache/lucene-site], but since this changes history from your initial commit I think the best way to PR this would be for you to set up two new branches on that repo named "gh-pages" and "trunk".  I can PR to those branches then you could make the trunk branch the github default and rename it to master.
