Submitting in Struts 2 from outside the Form

Is there any documentation regarding how to submit a Struts 2 form using
something other than the submit button whilst keeping all of the
AJAX/Javascript validation etc.

 

We are putting in drop down menus and would like to be able to do it
from there via a Javascript call.

What type of documentation are you looking for that isn't in the code
generated by the normal submit button/etc.? Are you talking about Ajax
validation or submission?
