This error is due to the fact that 'Dockerfile.ranger-base' uses python2 to execute the 'get-pip.py' script in the RUN command, see:
{code:java}
python2 /tmp/get-pip.py && \
{code}
When using
{code:java}
python3 /tmp/get-pip.py && \
{code}
the build succeeds.
