[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-4935) Very slow when adding new Source or Test folders

A James created NETBEANS-4935:
---------------------------------

Summary: Very slow when adding new Source or Test folders
                 Key: NETBEANS-4935
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-4935
             Project: NetBeans
          Issue Type: Bug
Environment: Product Version = Apache NetBeans IDE 12.1
Operating System = Windows 10 version 10.0 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 14; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 14+36-1461; Oracle Corporation
Runtime = OpenJDK Runtime Environment 14+36-1461
            Reporter: A James

When using 'Add folder ...' button to add source or test folders in Project Properties windows, it can take tens of minutes to bring up the file chooser (indeed long enough that I assumed that the function no longer worked, and was trying to work out whether I could alter the content of the configuration files manually to achieve what I wanted) - and several minutes more for changes made in the file chooser to be accepted.  (Once they _are_ accepted, however, things seem to be fine.)

I don't often create new projects or reconfigure existing ones, so I'm not sure how long this has been an issue.  I'm fairly sure things were ok in version 11.8 a while back, but I had problems today, so I tried updating to 12.1, but still have the same problem.
