I believe that this was intentional decision [~vybs]. Reading the [examples|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SQOOP/Sqoop2+Intermediate+representation] it seems that both {{mysqldump}} and {{pg_dump}} are encoding date-time values (date, datetime, time) as a {{String}} and that is why I've defined the CSV IDF this way.
