Bug in SessionExample servlet?

After following the Tomcat HOWTO document to the letter, if I invoke the
SessionExample servlet, no data is actually set in my session.

That is, the SessionExample servlet at
http://my.apache.server/examples/servlets/SessionExample presents a
screen like this:

  Sessions Example

  Session ID: To1017mC4388727688458772At
  Created: Wed Jan 19 12:13:21 EST 2000
Last Accessed: Wed Jan 19 12:13:21 EST 2000

The following data is in your session:

  Name of Session Attribute:
  Value of Session Attribute:

  +--------------+
  | Submit Query |
  +--------------+

If I fill in "abc" for the name and "def" for the value, and if I push
Submit Query, the response screen looks identical to the first, i.e.
abc=def is not recorded.

If I hit this same servlet in the Tomcat server (i.e. as a standalone
server, not plugged in to Apache), it works fine.

I'm using Tomcat 3.0 (the release version).

Are there telltale things I should be looking for in my conf file?

Is this the right place for bug reports?

Cheers,
Laird

Sorry; that should be:

http://my.apache.server/examples/servlet/SessionExample

...i.e. "servlet" instead of "servlets".
