   While working on https://github.com/apache/arrow-datafusion/pull/6106 I noticed a method that doesn't make sense and isn't used in the codebase, so it should be marked deprecated
   
   I also noticed that several other deprecated methods didn't have a `since` marking so I added a conservative one
