[jira] [Commented] (TS-2145) Introduce stats feature into logging module

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-2145?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13746512#comment-13746512 ]

Leif Hedstrom commented on TS-2145:
-----------------------------------

Interesting. So you are thinking of a tag of some sort that lets you include the metric as a log field? If we do this, can you look at the milestones "metrics" too ? I added TS API's for plugins to read these milestones, but if we generalize and muck with this, it'd be awesome to be able to include milestones into log entries.

I'd imagine both would be similar to how we support logging headers generically today.

> Without accurate stats, we don't known whether the log is lost.
> Our goal is to build a billing system base on logs generated by ATS, we should try our best to avoid any loss of logs.
