Solr 8.11.1 Clustering jar file missing ?

Dear Users,

 

I’m facing a problem, I can’t find the  solr-clustering-8.x.x.jar for the
8.11.1 solr version.

 

I use actually on my SOLR 8.7 the file  solr-clustering-8.7.0.jar

But I’m testing 8.11.1 and the file  solr-clustering-8.11.1.jar is missing.

 

Can you help me please ?

From my understanding, the clustering dependency Should work correctly as
long as you don't run on JDK 1.8, so on JDK 11 (if you use the official
Docker/Solr operator it should be on JDK 11) it should work fine, but if
you use Solr on VM/physical machine I suggest to check the java version, if
it is on 1.8 it may create problems in the future (and you should probably
upgrade it to JDK 11 anyways, as Solr 9 will stop support for JDK 1.8 all
together)

Hi Jan,

I installed the solr 8.11.1 and just copy the contrib/clustering folder from the 8.7.
It works correctly.

That is correct. You may be able to copy the contrib folder from the 8.7 release into your setup (since it is a plugin), but no guarantees. You can see in the linked SOLR JIRA issue why we had to do it this way.

That is correct. You may be able to copy the contrib folder from the 8.7 release into your setup (since it is a plugin), but no guarantees. You can see in the linked SOLR JIRA issue why we had to do it this way.
