[DISCUSS] 0.5.0 release

Hi Ratis Dev,

As reported by Henrik Hegardt and Andy Wu, Ratis 0.4.0 release has a
NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/hadoop/metrics2/lib/DefaultMetricsSystem problem.
Therefore, we suggest rolling out 0.5.0 release as soon as possible.
Any thought?

Trying to revive the ratis-0.5.0 release thread and prepare for the
corresponding Ozone release.
If you have any blocking RATIS JIRAs that need to be included in 0.5.0
release, please let me know before EOD Friday (1/23).

Thanks,
Xiaoyu

Re: [DISCUSS] 0.5.0 release

Posted by Mukul Kumar Singh <mk...@gmail.com>.
Hey Xiaoyu,

As part of the earlier thread for 0.5.0, I had raised a concern for
update of grpc and protobuf version in Ratis.

That change is now merged into Ratis and we are good to roll out a new
release(0.5.0).

Thanks,

Mukul

@Mukul Kumar Singh <mu...@cloudera.com>, we plan to have an Ozone release
that depends on the fixes from Ratis 0.5.0. Do you have any update on Ratis
0.5.0 release?

Thanks Tsz for driving the release.

We will have to start with a ratis-thridparty release before we can
start a Ratis release.
